Dear Powerwinch Customers,

Powerwinch is committed to the health and well-being of our team members, partners, and loyal customers during these unprecedented times, as everyone faces new challenges and adapts to the situation we are facing today.

Please know that at our facilities, we are taking all the CDC-recommended steps in our corporate office, manufacturing and warehouse facilities. These include social distancing, along with other best practices to help protect and support our production teams and you, our valued customers.

Our teams are working overtime to produce and ship every Powerwinch order to you, our customers in the US, Canada and around the world, as quickly as possible. You may experience delays due to the number of orders being processed and extended lead times for shipping so please allow up to 3 weeks of additional time for orders to be produced, and shipped during this extraordinary time. Likewise we are experiencing a significant increase in our call volumes, so we apologize in advance for longer than usual hold times and delayed return of email correspondence.

Thank you-not only for your business, but for your patience! Our teams here at Powerwinch sincerely thank you and wish you and your family safe travels and health.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why buy 12V?

Manual winches require your physical strength to pull and crank the weight of your boat as it fights gravity and slowly ramps onto the trailer.

With your Powerwinch 12 volt trailer winch, your boat can glide onto the trailer by simply pressing the remote and the work is done! Fast, easy, and safe! With the 12 volt electric trailer winch, you can use a pulley or block at the bow eye to double your pulling power (which doubles the cable and halves the retrieval speed). You can get more strength out of your trailer winch but it slows the retrieval speed by 50%.

Why power-in/freewheel-out . . . or power out?

With the power-in/freewheel-out system, the electric motor pulls the boat onto the trailer yet has a clutch release that allows gravity to float the boat into the water with ease. If you need more control when deploying your boat, get the power-out 915 Trailer Winch.

*When calculating boat weight, be sure to include boat, motor, fuel, gear and supplies. If in doubt, select the next larger size.
*PLUG-IN POWER! Safety tip: Do not use your trailer winch as a tie-down. To prevent mishaps, use separate tie-downs to secure your boat on the trailer. Trailer winches should not be used as hoists.
